Cannabis

Cannabis has been for almost a century the most maligned plant in history. After millennia of use by humans, the systematic and organized defamation from the 1920s onwards for the huge interests of the multinational plastic companies initially. tobacco and alcohol later, he managed to demonize cannabis in the consciousness of the world public opinion as well as the scientific community. Thus, a plant with application in almost all areas of human activity, (textile industry, construction, nutrition, energy, clothing, agriculture) and countless others.

While at the beginning of the millennium only some states of the USA and a few other countries allowed the medicinal use of cannabis, we have reached our time when it is legalized in addition to medicinal use and euphoric in one country after another. In Greece, since 2016, a series of legislative changes that allow the cultivation of cannabis in the EU-approved varieties of Sativa L., rich in CBD (cannabidiol), with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) less than 0.2%, and opened the way to access the therapeutic properties of cannabinoids to the general public. Of course we are still far from the self-evident which is the legalization of both euphoric use and self-cultivation, but the distance has certainly narrowed.
